Dhaba by Claridges, Epicuria mall. Nehru place

When I was a kid that was the first time my parents took me for a lunch inside the Claridges hotel. So, this Dhaba was inside the hotel serving North Indian food. Little did I know that when I’ll grow up, I will be exploring places for the love of ‘Food’. Dhaba by Claridges brings in a dash of nostalgia and is close to my heart. This is the new outlet inside the Epicuria mall, Nehru Place.

Ambiance: The Dhaba style décor is enhanced by colorful yellow couch, the walls are adorned by various Bollywood posters and then the colorful truck inside the Dhaba – please don’t forget to take pictures! Ah! The whole setup will give you a feel of road side Dhaba with loads of elegance. They have added the chandeliers which are made out of drinking glass, in the colors of blue, green, pink and purple! The menu adds a lot of color, designed in yellow color album; they have added a lot of new dishes this time. Go Try!

Drinks:IMG_2791 ~ Aam Paana: Presented in a bunta bottle, it adds a flavor of tangy, sweet and a refreshing summer drink.
~Paan Mojito: A hint of barcardi mixed with fresh aroma and taste of Paan.

~Juices: They do have canned juices which you can try Pineapple / Cranberry.

~Highway Chicken Tikka: Spicy boneless chicken pieces. The chicken was soft and juicy and perfectly well marinated. MUST Try!

~Galouti Kebabs: I think this is one of the signature dishes they serve. It was hard for me to put the dish down. I must have had 3 out of 4 servings and believe me every bite will give you that ‘Oh my gosh!’ reaction. The kebabs was marinated well in the spices and melted in my mouth.

~Butter Chicken:
Rich, creamy tomato gravy with the right amount of tanginess and sweetness is what I describe ‘Butter Chicken’. I am sure, Butter chicken lovers can relate. The chicken pieces were soft and juicy while the gravy complimented the dish. MUST Try.

~Dal Dhaba:
Overnight soaked and then coking the lentils is an art and they surpassed that. MUST Try.

~Dhaba Chilly Chicken:
Dhaba styled boneless chicken cubes with capsicum and onion which gives a hint of Chinese in the north Indian dish.

The Raita tasted really well. It was perfectly blended with mix vegetables. MUST Try.

~Assorted Breads:
The breads were soft and chewable. Must Try – Lachha Parantha , Missi Tandoori Parantha.

Finally on the desserts page; they began calling out to me right from the beginning of the meal. 😀
Rasmalai stands favourite when I end my meal with North Indian dish. Every bite will keep you craving for more. I started with one bite and I wolfed down the whole bowl. Had it been more space left in my tummy, I would have definitely repeated my order. I can come here everyday for the bowl full of spongy rasmalai. MUST Try!

~Tilla Kulfi:
Simple end to the north Indian meal is incomplete without tilla kulfi. It reminds me of the Indian wedding were we go back home savoring tilla kulfi on our way back home.

Yes, an expectation met and surpassed. Definitely coming here, again!
